EXHIBITION CO-COORDINATORS:

E. Ramstad is a printmaker whose work explores issues of privacy, fragmentation, transformation, and exposure within the genderqueer community. Ramstad questions why we hide certain body parts and flaunt others, and how this leads to the “outside world’s” interpretation of gender. This artwork incorporates monoprinting and stitching on both paper and fabric. Ramstad has presented exhibitions at New College and ODC, has shown work at Yerba Buena, S.F Public Library and the LGBT Historical Center, at galleries in Minnesota and Ohio, and is currently working with Fresh Meat in the Gallery for the second year.

Billie Mandel (Exhibition Co-Coordinator) is a sculptor, painter, curator and writer, originally from New York. Her work as both curator and visual artist utilizes the function of art as language, to instigate conversation within and amongst her viewers. She learned to sculpt as apprentice to Greg Wyatt, Sculptor-in-Residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Billie has shown her work and curated group exhibitions in San Francisco at galleries including City Art, Studio Z Gallery and here at Fresh Meat, as well as in private galleries in New York and Palo Alto.
