These photographs reflect the weekly gatherings and Diwali holiday celebration of a group of MSM (Men who have Sex with Men) in India. A percentage of proceeds from sales will benefit the NAZ Foundation, a non-profit organization providing safe space, HIV prevention information and legal advocacy for MSM in India.

Under Section 377, MSM is illegal in India, punishable by a $10,000 fine and up to 10 years imprisonment. The NAZ Foundation filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India, challenging the constitutionality of Section 377, asking the court to declare the law should no longer apply to consenting adults. The NAZ Foundation also provides a safe space for MSM to meet, socialize and be who they are. Many of the men featured in Guenther’s photos are peer counselors for HIV education and prevention.
